Matrix effect

matrix-effectI Really did enjoy making this, this was my favourite lesson of multimedia so far, by far

Careers in Digital Media

  • Encourage and support the growth of AIMIA members and the digital industry at large
  • Act as a medium of education and support for its members and the industry through a number of services
  • Represent AIMIA members and the digital industry to the broader business community

2. Without AIMIA it would be much harder to start in Digital media, or just in business because it would make it a lot harder to popuralise your business therefor the whole Australian industry would suffer.

3. From their website;

Digital industry development initiatives and activities

  • Education and training
  • Industry standards, guidelines and codes of practice
  • Industry research
  • Business and consumer development
  • Forums and networking events
  • Annual AIMIA Awards program
  • Government lobbying and policy development
  • Advertise current job vacancies in the digital industry
  • Active State Chapters in NSW, VIC, QLD and SA, who provide localised support and initiatives to the industry
  • Insurance and legal services

4.

Analogue vs Digital

  • Analogue uses a continuous signal to send data, while digital devices use discrete (non continuous) signals to send the data.
  • Analogue is a lot cheaper, and easier to move around. Digital is very expensive and extremely difficult to move, but analogue technology isn’t as advanced and can’t do as many things. Digital systems interpret data by converting it to numbers, digits and then other technology reads it and turns it back.
  • Some devices that used to be analogue and are now digital are
  • The Watch
  • The Radio
  • The Television

Application Design

1. I worked in a partnership with AJ Brokeman. I believe we worked very well together. We both took on a fair share of work. While creating the animation I was working the paper prototypes while he was manning the camera. In the design faze we both contributed good ideas.

2. Our app will help out a student immensely. We allow students to have easy access to their own editable timetable- a future implemented to help a student find out what classes he has during the week-, A home work planner and check list- which is used for a student seeing what homework he has when it is due and which subject it is for, Teacher Contacts- this page tells us everything we need to know about any of Sandringham colleges teachers, what subjects the teach, their email and other important details, The school map section is quite obviously just 3 different maps of all the rooms of the three different campus’s and finally the class list is just a list of all a students classes.

3. Our feedback was served a very important role during our apps development. Some things we took out of it was quite obvious, such as adding a back button on some of the slides but some of the advice was more critical.

4. If I was to do something like this again I would defiantly try and spend more time making the paper prototypes clearer and more straight forward, I would also pay more attention to our prototype.

App design 1

Aj Brokeman and I have just started to design an iPad application aiming to make a student at sandringham colleges life easier.

The first step was brainstorming ideas, the only limit we had was that it had to be related to school so our ideas were endless. We decided to make a time table app but with more features.

Secondly we just had to talk about what features our timetable app would provide and how we would make it better than everyone else’s, we wrote down these ideas to make sure we remembered and agreed on the ideas and how they would work.

The next step was to create a flow chart, this flow chart was very detailed and explained exactly how our app would work and everything it could do. Aj and I just managed to complete this today and are now drawing every page!
